Just back from Vietnam.. a trip that was like a year of travel packed into 4 or 5 days, with unexpected twists and turns (and some sweet, magic up up down down left right left right b a start moments to savor).

I would now like to:
a. map the rest of phu quoc island’s red-dirt roads by motorbike
b. continue the madness & great conversations in ho chi minh city with tom and dj samurai of orangestyles.vn and help build that warehouse skate park for local kids

It’s time for a short trip outside HK. Last-minute cheap tickets will deliver us to Ho Chi Minh City in a few hours, then maybe on to Con Dao or wherever else I can find. We’ll be back to HK for a final couple workshops with some fresh collaborations and ideas from the past week of intense and wonderful happenings.

I was wondering how far the earth moves in the 15 hours of time difference to the US west from HK, with respect to the background radiation or whatever "fixed" reference point is commonly used in our infinitely ridiculous universe.

3rd day of our 2nd Small World workshop. New group of students and a few new tricks up our sleeves. Today we remixed old footage from Ford Motor Co., inspired by and building upon a storyboarding workshop by Christophe Bruchansky in the UK. You can check out the final projects here:

Everything from dancing in space to cake suicide (or die lovely). It’s always a surprise to see what the students come up with. Tomorrow we plan to have them create a silent film. We’ll be voting on the topic.

Kicked off a new Small World workshop this week.. so far, really great. Among many other things, we’re building upon artist Christophe Bruchansky’s project from the recent Dreams of Progress exhibition in the UK, hoping to bring kids from the two places together through his great storyboarding & video remixing project.

We’ll be uploading our projects the ClipDub group on Vimeo, the same place you should visit to make a remix of your own right now.
